Declan is arguably the most important dog I have bred. His entire litter was very special for me and across the board the temperaments, structure, and conformation were exactly what I was looking for. Declan has more than exceeded my expectations as a show dog, producer, and best friend. In addition to being a Westminster Kennel Club Best of Breed winner, Declan is a multiple Best in Specialty Show winner. He has been awarded the prestigious placements of Winners Dog and Select Dog at Irish Setter Club of America National Specialty shows and in 2022, was crowned NOHS Best in Show at the Royal Canin AKC National Championships in Orlando, Florida. His storied career has truly been a dream come true for me as his breeder, owner, handler and veterinarian and I look forward to more memories to come with him.

 

At five months of age, Declan went Best Puppy in Show at 2 separate 4-6 month puppy competitions. His presence at the 2018 ISCA National Speciality as a young spectator drew widespread positive feedback and he subsequently followed that trip the following year with an unforgettable win at the 2019 ISCA National Specialty in Asheville, NC as he was awarded Winners Dog, finishing his Championship title at under fifteen months of age. Declan is one of five littermates to be pointed in competition from the puppy classes, two of which have been awarded major wins at Irish Setter Specialty Shows. 

 

In Declan's first show in regular competition, he went Reserve Winners Dog to the major at the Supported Entry at Somerset Hills KC in New Jersey. From there, Declan quickly made his presence known on the show scene, scoring several impressive wins at Irish Setter Specialty Shows over stiff competition. At the Galloway, NJ Specialty Weekend, Declan was awarded Best of Winners for a 3 point major, Winners Dog for 2 points, and an impressive Best in Sweepstakes win over many deserving puppies. The very next weekend at the Lower Susquehanna Irish Setter Club Specialty Show, Declan was again awarded Best of Winners, this time for a 4 point Specialty major, all at less than 9 months of age. Declan 

soared to 11 points in under 2 months of limited showing and recieved a great deal of positive feedback from judges and the fancy alike. Declan's crowning achievement was indeed his monumental win at the 2019 ISCA National Specialty, going Winners Dog for a 5 point major (his 4th major in total) and finishing his Championship title. A truly unforgettable journey. Declan was awarded Best of Breed at the Maryland Kennel Club shows, finishing his Grand Championship title and he and I went on to win Owner Handled Best in Show later in the day. We are so proud of this wonderful puppy and can't wait to experience all of the fun times ahead with him. It has already been an unforgettable ride.
